Montreal Dance Sensation Compagnie Marie Chouinard to Perform at The Flynn

Evoking Cubist paintings, Egyptian friezes, primitive rituals, and baby birds, the dances of Montreal choreographer Marie Chouinard never cease to provoke and astound. Pushing their bodies to the limit, 10 exceptional dancers explore physiological architecture, probing the forces and tensions within us. With lighting and electronic music spectacularly supporting the tribal dance, the dancers perform Chouinard’s intense signature work Le Cri du Monde, called “a masterpiece” by the Toronto Globe & Mail. In contrast, 24 Preludes is a jubilant work inspired by Chopin’s Opus 28, marrying gentleness with strength and subtlety with rawness. Compaignie Marie Chouinard will be performing Friday, March 14, 2003 at 8 pm. Tickets are $28 (adults) / $24.50(students).

Contains adult themes and nudity. Not recommended for children.
