Quebec native Kale Kane will take his talents south of the Canadian border and come to Vermont.

The 18-year-old currently plays at the Salisbury School, where he has collected  27 goals and 55 points in 57 career games to date. He is expected to play a few years of junior hockey before coming to Vermont, which would tentatively slot him in the 2016-2017 incoming class, according to a source close to Kane.

Mark Bilotta of Over the Boards, a website dedicated to college hockey recruiting and amateur hockey scouting, said that “if most [players] give 100 percent, he gives 110 percent. He finishes every check. Prep level almost looked too easy for him.”

The 5-foot-8 forward from Kahnawake, Quebec, Canada announced on his Twitter page (@KaNeR_3) that he committed April 14 around 7:30 p.m. “Very proud to announce my commitment to the University of Vermont to play division one hockey! #CatamountHockey”

Head coach Kevin Sneddon is unable to comment on all incoming recruits until the University has admitted them, according to university policy.
