Best snack fixes for your 4/20 munchies

It’s the day UVM students cherish: the hailed 4/20.

You’ve just spent the last few hours lounging on the Redstone Green, surrounded by a thick cloud of smoke, occasionally interrupted by slight panic when police services strolled by.

After soaking up some sun and now feeling a sense of euphoria, you decide to head back to your dorm when the munchies hit.

Something sweet

  1. Chocolate chips (dark or milk)
  2. Items to dip: pretzels, strawberries, bananas, marshmallows.

Simply melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl on a low power setting, and you’ve got yourself your own little pot of chocolate fondue.

The different textures are sure to blow your mind. Just be careful not to burn yourself.

Something savory

  1. Eggs
  2. Cheese
  3. Veggies (optional)
  4. Breakfast meat: Ready-to-eat/pre-cooked (optional)

Whisk 2 to 3 eggs together in a bowl. Add chopped vegetables, ready-to-eat breakfast meat, salt and pepper and microwave for 2 to 3 minutes.

This omelet-like creation is sure to hit the spot and likely scores better in the nutrition department than the pizza you were going to order.

You want to make sure to heat the egg thoroughly — it shouldn’t be runny.
