For the past seven years, UVM men’s basketball coach John Becker has transformed the Catamounts into a consistently winning team. In a short profile, the 3-time America East Coach of the Year and 2-time America East champion sheds light on his coaching style and his close relationship with the players.

    John, congratulations on your season to date. I never expected this inexperienced team to be doing this well. Support you 100%.
    We don’t see daily attitudes and practice sessions but Patella seems to have more “lightening in the bottle” than some other underperformers. He is always around the lose balls, works hard on defense but also seems afraid to attack offensively. One and done mistake and out? It might be interesting to see what he can do with some consistent playing time.
    I reallize this is none of my business but I always felt outside input, often not useful, could help me reflect differently.. Good luck the rest of the way to NCAAs!
