UVM’s College of Medicine has been ranked sixth in the nation for primary care education in U.S. News & World Report’s 2010 edition of “America’s Best Graduate Schools,” landing the program a top five percent ranking for the third consecutive year.
To compile the list, the 130 medical schools in the country are evaluated annually on assessments from medical school leaders and residency program directors, the percentages of graduates who enter primary care residencies, some statistical measures including MCAT and GPA scores, faculty/student ratios and acceptance rates— among other measures.
This past fall, the College of Medicine received over 5,700 applications for the 111 spots available in the Class of 2012.
