The Vermont Cynic will welcome Pulitzer Prize winning journalist David Cay Johnston to the University of Vermont on Oct. 2. Johnston is a former investigative journalist for The New York Times specializing in the subject of taxation. His speech, scheduled for 7 p.m. in the John Dewey Lounge, will be titled “Free Lunch and the Wall Street Meltdown” and will be open to all UVM students and faculty.Johnston will be the first speaker in The Cynic Journalism Lecture Series, which will bring influential members of the journalism community to share their knowledge on campus.
