A UVM employee has recently been named director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UVM, effective since Jan. 1, according to a University Communications release.
Cathi Cody-Hudson, an employee of UVM’s Continuing and Distance Education (CDE) for 31 years, was chosen by OLLI’s former temporary director, Cynthia Belliveau, the release said.
OLLI focuses on educating older learners through classes and events in Vermont communities, the release explained.
According to the release, Cody-Hudson plans to increase membership and build partnerships throughout the state while serving as director. She will also continue her full-time position as human resources and facilities manager of CDE.
Cathi’s admirable skill set is only matched by her indispensable passion for lifelong learning, which her inductor, Belliveau, emphasizes in the release.
“I don’t know Cathi personally but she seems qualified for the job. I think it’s imperative that Vermont offers the opportunity for people of all age groups to better their education and better themselves,” said UVM student, Jon Thal.
