UVM Hillel offers students an inviting, inclusive atmosphere in which to explore, expand, and engage their relationship to Judaism, each other, and the greater UVM and Burlington communities. A variety of programs, activities, and events address the social, cultural, environmental, spiritual, and religious concerns of Jewish students. A high priority is placed on community involvement, student leadership, and multicultural and interfaith partnerships. Hillel also serves as a resource center for information about study and travel in Israel, graduate programs, student conferences, and other extra-curricular opportunities. Weekly Shabbat dinners are held, as well as services and events for all Jewish holidays. The student group also takes trips and gets together with students from campuses all over New England. With over 1,000 Jewish students on campus, UVM Hillel is building an inclusive, pluralistic Jewish community.
