Create a delicious gourmet breakfast that can fulfill Christmas meal requirements.Ingredients:- 1 cup flour – 1/4 cup wheat germ- 1/3 cup white sugar- 1 large egg- 1/2 cup melted butter- 1 tablespoon baking powder- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice- 1 half teaspoon grated nutmeg- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix)- 3/4 cup milk- 1/2 teaspoon saltFirst, retrieve the waffle iron from the depths of a kitchen cabinet and plug it in to preheat. If you don’t have a waffle iron, this recipe can also be used as a pancake mix.Mix the flour, spices, wheat germ, sugar, salt and baking powder in a large bowl. In a smaller bowl off to one side, mix the milk, butter, pumpkin and egg, enough so that there aren’t any chunks of egg yolk left floating in the liquid. Then form a small well in the center of the dry mixture, and pour the liquid in the small bowl into the well. Stir thoroughly to make a thick batter. If it is too thick to spread on the waffle iron, simply add extra milk until the batter reaches the desired consistency. All that is left to do is to place the batter in the iron and cook the waffles. Finally, don’t forget the butter and Vermont Maple Syrup to top off the waffles. To all brave cooking souls, good luck and happy holidays.
