Marcus Blakely Questionable for Saturday’s BracketBuster game vs. Buffalo

Catamount fans looking forward to seeing their high-flying star player, Marcus Blakely, on ESPN2 during this Saturday’s BracketBuster game against Buffalo may be disappointed. In a statement released Wednesday by Allison Shepherd, UVM’s Athletic Medicine Services Director, Blakely’s status was said to be “questionable” for Saturday’s home game. The Burlington Free Press reports that it may be a head injury, which occurred during Vermont’s home victory against Stony Brook last Sunday. Blakely didn’t play in the final 12 minutes of Vermont’s last game at UMBC, where he could be seen on the bench with a towel over his head. The junior is averaging just under 16 points and nine rebounds per game this season and has been a key factor to Vermont’s ascension to first place in the America East.
