As a Vermonter who has had many friends and family graduate from and relatives works at UVM, I’m disturbed by UVM’s police actions at the annual 420 event and in general. My cousin brought literature to distribute about the May 4th Marijuana Rally at City Hall Park in Burlington and security made him throw the flyers out because it was “propaganda”. UVM’s police have cracked down on adults drinking by doubling the number of tickets from the previous year. You are an adult when you turn 18 years old. UVM, Vermont, and the USA should treat you with the same equal treatment given to any other adult. The Marijuana Rally on May 4th starts at 12:30 rain or shine. We will have several speakers including Representatives Connell, Maslack, and Zuckerman. Vermont NORML and the Vermont Libertarian Party are cosponsoring the event.Come out and show your support for reforming the marijuana laws.
