New dean ready for business

Sanjay Sharma has been appointed dean of the school of business administration effective July 1st, according to a University Communications press release. “Dr. Sharma is one of the most respected business school leaders in North America, and his expertise will be a great addition to the University of Vermont community,” President Daniel Mark Fogel stated in an e-mail to the UVM community. Sharma comes to UVM as the dean of John Molson School of Business at Concordia University, one of the best business schools in the world, the press release stated. The school’s MBA program is ranked among the top 100 in the world by The Economist, according to the release. “Dr. Sharma’s rare combination of practical experience, extensive research and leadership skills within higher education was extremely compelling and should serve UVM’s School of Business well,” Provost Jane Knodell said to University Communications.
