SGA elections to fill 11 senate seats

According to the SGA website, mid-term elections are only held when there are four or more seats available. This year’s 11 paved the way for a total of 13 candidates to vie for the positions.

SGA public relations chair Katie Rifken said that the election is not held very often, but the openings this year were a result of senators studying abroad, among other personal circumstances.

‘We have people studying abroad, that’s a big thing. it’s hard if you’re doing that to do it for a full year,’ Rifken said.’

The election will last from 8:00am on January 28th until 8:00am on January 30th.

Voting will occur on the UVM lynx website, at http://thelynx.collegiatelink.net/Community?action=getMyHome

The newly elected senators will be sworn in on Tuesday, Feb. 2.
