UVM is among the top 25 universities whose students go on to serve in the Peace Corps, according to a press release. UVM was ranked number 13 on the list of middle-sized universities. The University was also number 13 last year, although the number of volunteers from UVM has increased, the press release stated. “Colleges instill a commitment to public service among their students and share [a] belief that, together, we can work to make the world a better place,” Peace Corps Director Aaron S. Williams said. Historically, the University that has contributed the most students to the Peace Corps is the UC at Berkeley, which has seen 3,457 students volunteer, according to the press release.
