Men’s Hockey Rolls versus New Hampshire

Junior Brian Roloff’s hat trick lead an offensive explosion as the Catamounts knocked off Hockey East rival New Hampshire 6-4 on Friday night at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

The victory was just the second for UVM against UNH since the Cats joined Hockey East.

Twelve different players recorder points, but Roloff was the star recording Vermont’s first two goals of the game as the Cats jumped out to a quick 3-1 lead in the first period.

Dan Lawson, Brayden Irwin and Viktor Stalberg also lit the lamp for the #7 Catamounts who moved two points ahead of the #9 Wildcats in the Hockey East standings.

On top of his goal, a stellar shorthanded effort in the third period, Stalberg also added two assists.

Rob Madore finished with 28 saves for the Catamounts.

The Cats and Wildcats rap up the regular season on Saturday night at the Gut. A win or a tie guarantees the Cats third place in Hockey East and a date with BC in the first round of the playoffs. A loss means the Cats drop to fourth and will face UMass Lowell.
