Women’s track and field excels in ECAC

The Vermont women’s track and field team finished with sixteen points and a tie for 20th place among 70 schools after the ECAC championships on Mar. 3. The competition took place at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston over two days. Sophomore Yolanda Ngarambe placed third in the 800-meter run and senior Morgan Powers won the 5000-meter run.

Men’s hockey falls to BC at season’s end

The Vermont men’s hockey team lost both games of the season’s final series on the road against Boston College Mar. 2 and 3. The first loss was 5-1 and the second was 4-0. With their victory, the Eagles clinched the Hockey East Regular Season title. The Catamounts end the season with a record of 6-27-1 (3-23-1 HEA).

UVM senior named defender of the week

Vermont senior women’s lacrosse goalkeeper Laura Barber was named the America East Women’s Lacrosse Defender of the Week on Mar. 12. Barber earned her 16th career win with the Catamounts on Mar. 7 in a game against High Point. This victory moved her into fourth place among Vermont’s all-time leading goalkeepers.
