Boss: Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers QB

Ê

Discount Double Check is back! Rodgers saved his best game of the year for Sunday night vs. the previously undefeated Houston Texans. Rodgers threw for 338 yards and six, count them six, touchdowns. Silencing the recent critiques, the Packers bounced back from blowing a 21-point lead the previous week against the Colts, and showed why they won 15 games last year behind the reigning MVP. To fantasy owners’ delight, Rodgers put up 38 points in ESPN leagues and looks to stay on track next week vs. the Rams.

Quote: “This is Death Valley. This is the place where opponents’ dreams come to die!” Les Miles Head Coach of LSU after beating No. 3 South Carolina at home Saturday night.

Goat: New York Yankees’ Bats

Ê

Yes, the New York Yankees have made it to the ALCS, but their big bats, and their big pay roll has yet to show up. Through seven games, Robinson cano is batting .063, Curtis Granderson is batting .115, and after being bench during game five of the the ALDS, Alex Rodriguez is batting .130. Those three players combined have a payroll of 53 million for 2012, and it’s safe to say that they have yet to show up for the playoffs. If the Yankees want to climb out of their 0-2 hole against the Detroit Tigers, they will need to look to these players to turn it around.
