University of Vermont fraternity chapters AGR and FIJI have been issued separate sanctions by the University for violation of University policies, according to a Mar. 30 University press release.

FIJI has received a four-year suspension after violating UVM’s alcohol policy by the Center of Student Conduct. The suspension will begin immediately.

Last September, potential members of FIJI, called pledges, were led in drinking games, the press release stated.

AGR will begin a five-year probation immediately.

They were found responsible by CSC for issuing alcohol to underage students at a ticketed party last October.

The fraternities had been under a period of interim suspension while in the review process and adjudication were outstanding.
