Goaltender to forego senior season
Junior netminder Brody Hoffman will forego his senior season with men’s hockey to sign with the National Hockey League’s Minnesota Wild.
Hoffman, 24, finished the season with a record of 13-6-2 and a 2.06 goals against average. The Wilkie, Saskatchewan native agreed to terms on an entry-level contract Monday, March 30.
As a first-year Hoffman was the only goalie to start every regular season game since Tim Thomas did in 1996-1997, according to UVM athletics.
With Hoffman signing, this leaves sophomore Mike Santaguida and sophomore Pat Feeley as goalies on the current roster. Fellow sophomore Pat Feeley also remains with the team.
Hoffman will be assigned to Minnesota’s AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild.
