The Catamounts Announce their Next Captain
Junior Yvan Pattyn was named the next captain of men’s hockey April 20, succeeding a trio of success in past captains H.T. Lenz, Chris McCarthy, and Mike Paliotta.
“He has earned the respect of the entire program through his consistent play, respect of his teammates, and passion for UVM hockey,” head coach Kevin Sneddon said. “I look forward to a great working relationship with Pattyn.”
Pattyn has missed only three games in his UVM career and tallied five assists this past year, according to UVM athletics.
Pattyn’s older brother, Stephane, was the captain of the men’s hockey team at the University of North Dakota this past year and is currently playing in the American Hockey League for the Charlotte Checkers.
The St. Anne, Manitoba defenseman has registered three goals and 14 assists in his 117 career games as a Catamount.
