Former UVM President Passes Away

Former UVM president John Hennessey passed away Jan. 11. He was 92.

Hennessey served as UVM’s provost from 1986 to 1989. He then took over as interim president when President Lattie Coor left. He served until 1990, when President George Davis took office, according to UVM’s website for former presidents.

He is survived by Hennessey’s wife, former Vermont Governor Madeleine Kunin, as well as his son, his daughter, his three grandchildren, five great granddaughters, four step-children, and six step-grandchildren.
