The Burlington Farmers Market is an essential part of a weekend in Burlington.
I remember my first year at UVM trekking down to Pine Street every week to escape campus for a few hours. Meandering through each row of tents and learning about what each vendor had to offer reminded me of why supporting local businesses is so important.
Right next door is the Barge Canal Market, a vintage store featuring many trinkets, lamps and cheap prints to decorate a dorm or apartment. Most Saturdays it also hosts the Burlington Vintage Market where vendors come to sell clothing, much of it upcycled or customized.
This upcoming Saturday Oct. 26 is the last market of the summer season and I urge you to stop by and enjoy what each vendor has to offer. Happy people watching.
