Staff Report

Several library employees confirmed that police confronted a disgruntled UVM affiliate inside the Bailey/Howe Library this afternoon.

Evan Friedman, a continuing education student, was placed under investigation outside of Bailey/Howe following a trespass order, according to an email from Tim Bilodeau, deputy chief of UVM police services.

Two library employees, who wish to remain unnamed until the police report is released, said the man was in the library last night, “behaving erratically” and making threatening comments to other people.

As of 4:07 p.m. Oct. 10, there has been no arrest in the case, the email stated.
