UVM athlete spotlight of the week

#8 Joe Losier – Men’s soccer

Position: Defense

Height: 6’1″?

Hometown: Glastonbury, Conn.?

High School: Glastonbury High School

 

Accomplishments at UVM:

 

Losier scored two of the three goals in the shutout victory for the Catamounts this past Saturday as they opened up against the visiting Binghamton Bearcats. The initial of Losier’s two goals acted as both the first of the game and his first of the season.

 

This win was a special one for Losier, mirroring his first start of the season during his sophomore year, where the Catamounts fell short to the Bearcats 2-1.

Previous Accomplishments:

 

Prior to playing with the Catamounts, Losier lead his high school team to the Connecticut Class LL State Championship in the 2005 season. In the span of the next two years, Losier earned both a berth in the state semifinals and was named to the Connecticut All-State Team.

 

From 2007 to 2008, Losier continued to earn prestigious honors for both soccer and academics as he was twice named to the Central Connecticut Conference All-Star Team as well as the CCC All-Academic Team. This continued as he has recently been added to the American East Academic Honor Roll.
