UVM athlete spotlight of the week

# 17 Drew Philie — Men’s lacrosse

Position: Attack? Height: 5’9″ Weight : 200 lbs Class: Sophomore

Hometown: Sandwich, Mass.

High School: Deerfield Academy

Accomplishments at UVM:

Last season, Philie was named both the America East Rookie of the Year and the American East Fans’ Choice Player of the Year as one of UVM’s team captains.

Posting 56 points for the Catamounts last year, he was named the team MVP.

This season, he is continuing his domination, as he picked up his first America East Player of the Week honor on March 21. He leads the Cats with 21 points this season, a statistic that also ranks him second in America East.

Previous accomplishments:

As Deerfield Academy’s team captain his senior year, Philie scored 23 goals complimented by 22 assists for a total of 45 points — enough to earn him all-league honors.
