Dr. Suresh Garimella has been officially chosen as UVM’s 27th president.

The announcement came in a Feb. 22 email to the UVM community from Board of Trustees Chair David Daigle.

“Following a comprehensive, nationwide search that attracted 90 applicants, Dr. Garimella clearly emerged as the most capable candidate for this position,” Daigle stated in the email.

Garimella comes from Purdue University, where he serves as Executive Vice President for Research and Partnerships.

He will take on the position of president July 1 of this year.
