Aesop Rock, Mr. Lif, and MURS

New York City-based hip-hop artist Aesop Rock possesses a rapping style similar to such eccentric artists as Kool Keith and Del the Funkee Homosapien, while building a following with a series of releases on the Def Jux label. After the release of his debut full-length, “Mush,” Aesop Rock issued a pair of singles for Def Jux, “Coma” and “Boom Box,” before issuing his second full-length overall, “Labor Days,” in September of 2001, an album which surprisingly featured numerous references to history and mythology (not your usual hip-hop subject matter). Higher Ground is pleased to welcome Aesop Rock with openers Mr. Lif, Murs, and DJ Fakts One.- Press Release
