Associate dean dies

Dr. Janet Bossange, the associate dean of the College of Education and Social Services and senior lecturer, died on April 13 after a brief struggle with cancer, Dean Fayneese Miller stated in a letter to the University. “Janet was a consummate educator with a heart of gold, forever focused on doing what was best for students not only in the College of Education and Social Services, but also in every other college in the University,” according to the letter. She began her career at UVM in 1987 and was well-known in Vermont’s artistic community, the letter stated. A date for the memorial service has yet to be set but her family is asking that donations be given to the Dr. Janet Bossange Memorial Fund, which supports students’ research and activities, according to the letter.
