After 10 years as President of the University of Vermont, Daniel Mark Fogel announced his resignation that will become effective on July 1, 2012. After he steps down, President Fogel plans to take an administrative leave for a year before assuming a faculty position as a full-time professor of english at the University of Vermont, according to a press release. “It seems like the right time for me, and the right time for UVM,” he said. Board of Trustees Chair Robert Cioffi said he is supportive of President Fogel’s decision. He will continue as president for another 15 months, which should give the institution enough time to conduct a thorough presidential search, Cioffi said.
