Fogel elaborates on administrative changes

University of Vermont President Daniel Mark Fogel informed the UVM community of some of the personnel changes taking place over the remainder of the semester in an e-mail on Monday.

Fogel announced the appointment of Richard Cate to the position of vice president of finance and administration. He was formerly the interim vice president and also serves as the University’s treasurer.

Additionally, Fogel announced that Kathleen Kelleher, director of principle gifts, would move into the position of interim vice president of development and alumni relations.

That position was vacated after Marcus Diamond stepped down late last month.

In the e-mail, Fogel elaborated on the search for an interim provost following the announcement by Provost John Hughes that he would leave his position in June.

The search for an interim provost will be internal, with applicants taken from within the University. The search for a long-term replacement will be on a national level, according to Fogel.

Fogel did not mention the recent resignations of Betty Rambur as the dean of the College of Nursing and Health Service and Larry Forcier as the dean of the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources.
