Greek Life gives back to Vt. farms

UVM’s chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR) fraternity recently donated $2,500 to Vermont farmers impacted by Tropical Storm Irene.   The money was given to the Vermont Farm Disaster Relief Fund, an organization established in the wake of Irene to provide assistance to individual farmers whose crops and livestock were damaged or destroyed by the storm, according to their website.   “We were hoping to give this money to the farmers who need to rebuild and regrow and get ready for the next season,” AGR member Alex Bailey told WCAX-TV of the donation.   AGR has its roots in farming, and their philanthropic pursuits are tailored as such. The fraternity seeks to prepare its members for any agriculture or food-related career, according to their website.
