It’s that time of year again when parents and alumni flock to UVM for homecoming and family weekend. Whether they are parents visiting their home sick children or wandering alumni coming back to relive their college days, it will certainly be a time to enjoy the beautiful campus and experience everything UVM has to offer. On October 1-3, there will be a wide array of events taking place that will certainly have something for everyone. The full calendar of activities planned ranges from lectures, concerts, dramatic performances, to athletic events, and many other social and recreational opportunities. A selected number of classes will also be open to visitors on Thursday and Friday, for those interested in a student’s eye view of academic life here at the university. The Billings Student Center will be made into a headquarters for all information and registration pertaining to the upcoming events. Visitors should make this their first stop as tickets for most events can be purchased at this venue. Athletic tickets can be obtained at the Patrick Gymnasium Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Some of the more notable eventws taking place this weekend include:
Fleming MuseumOpening ReceptionSaturday, October 2 at 6 p.m.President Daniel Mark Fogel and Rachel Kahn-Fogel will host the opening reception for the Fleming’s latest exhibition, “An Eye Toward Nature: A Suite of Four Exhibitions.”Ê At 6 p.m., historian and naturalist Kevin Dann will present “Figure and Ground: Seeing Nature Whole,” followed by remarks by President Fogel at 7 p.m. A reception with music and a cash bar will follow. www.uvm.edu/~fleming/exhibitions/
