Interim dean for Arts and Sciences is appointed

Dr. Joel Goldberg was appointed interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) on Jan. 25, a news release stated. Goldberg has served as associate dean of CAS since 2005, the UVM website stated. “We are confident that he will bring effective leadership to the College,” an e-mail from President Daniel Mark Fogel said. “Goldberg’s experience in the college has been comprehensive in scope and of exemplary quality.” Goldberg replaced former Dean of CAS Eleanor Miller, according to the news release. The punctuality of Goldberg’s appointment marked a seamless transition with outgoing Dean Miller, the news release stated. After completing his doctoral degree from the University of Michigan, Goldberg came to UVM in 1982 to become associate professor of chemistry, the news release stated.
