Men’s Tennis Improves to 4-0 Against America East Rivals by Sweeping Boston University

The University of Vermont men’s tennis team improved to a perfect 4-0 against America East rivals by shutting out Boston University, 7-0, at the Twin Oaks Tennis Center on Friday night. The Catamounts (12-10, 4-0) swept all nine matches en route to blanking the Terriers. Zeljko Knezevic (Tusla, Bosnia-Herz) set the tone at number one with a 6-2, 6-2 win over B.U.’s Geoff Wagner. In singles action, Matt Spring of Vermont won his singles match 6-4, 6-2, Tom Whittaker won his match 4-6, 6-0, 6-2, Griffin Maloney won his 6-3, 7-5, Jon Cooper won his 7-5, 7-5, and Eric Conway finished up singles with a 6-4, 6-7, 10-5 win at the sisth seed. In double action, Cooper and Knezevic won the first seed match-up 8-4, Spring and Whittaker won 8-6 and Conway and Bernstein finished it up with an 8-6 to complete the sweep.-SportsInfo
