RecordUVM finished with a 19-12 record overall, 8-8 in America East play, third place in the conference. Vermont won its quarterfinal match up in the conference tournament, but then fell in the semifinals to eventual champions UMBC.Most Valuable PlayersBrittney Cross, Courtnay Pilypaitis and May KotsopoulosCross averaged 9.5 points and 4.1 assists. She led the team with 71 steals.Pilypaitis lead the team in scoring, averaging 13.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.Fellow freshman Kotsopoplous averaged 10.9 points a game and 2.9 rebounds a game. What the Coach Has to SayHead coach Sharon Dawley”I’m disappointed we don’t have another game to play,” Dawley said. “Yet, I’m not disappointed with what we accomplished this season.”Season HighlightWinning the URI InvitationalAfter an upset win against then #22 Boston College, the Cats came back to win the URI Invitational. After that game the Cats were able to win nine of their next eleven games.Interesting FactThe Cats received strong play from its deep bench. Junior Sara Fenton, Senior co-captain Alison Brown, sophomore Kelli Poles, freshman Sofia Iwobi and Alissa Sheftic, junior Nicole Trott, and sophomore Sarah Madey all made contributions for the Cats.
