RecordThe Women’s hockey program experienced a difficult season, with an overall record of 3-27-2, and a conference record of 1-19-1. They were shut out 17 timesMost Valuable PlayersChelsea Furlani and Karen SentoffFurlani, a freshman from Colchester, Vt., led the team in both goals and points, six and 10, respectively.Sentoff, a junior assistant captain, was close behind, gaining nine points, including six assists.What the Coach Has to SayHead coach Tim Bothwell”Throughout the season we made some positive strides and we need to continue to move forward,” Bothwell said. “All of us have a lot of work ahead this off season.”Season HighlightWinning over UConn and Sweeping Sacred HeartOn January 4, the Cata-mounts won 3-2 against the University of Connecticut in a hard-fought battle. UVM’s best weekend came in late October, when they swept a two game series against Sacred Heart at home.Interesting FactFirst-year head coach Tim Bothwell spent 11 years as a defensemen in the NHL, playing for the New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues, and the Hartford Whalers. Bothwell also was an assistant coach on the 2006 Canadian Women’s Hockey team that won the gold medal in Torino.
