UVM Sophomore dies unexpectedly

UVM Sophomore Melissa Mark has died unexpectedly in Boston, Massachusetts.

Annie Stevens, Vice Provost for Student Affairs, announced Mark’s death in a campus wide email Aug. 15.

Mark died Saturday, Aug. 11, according to the email.

The University extends its deepest condolences to Mark’s family and the University’s thoughts of care and sympathy are extended to the UVM community, the email stated.

Mark was a majoring in Early Childhood Education and was a member of the Wellness Environment her first year at UVM, the email stated.

Students are encouraged to reach out to CAPS if they are needing additional support in this difficult time, according to the email.
