Ashley Golden is a senior psychology and english double major with a minor in classics and a concentration in writing from Chicago, IL. She started with the Cynic in January of 2025 as an opinion columnist before taking over as opinion editor in September of 2025. Ashley has also interned under multiple NYT bestselling author Marya Hornbacher. 

Ashleys’ writing often focuses on themes love, grief, literature, relationships, psychology and identity. She places a large emphasis on creative writing. When she’s not working for the Cynic, Ashley enjoys reading literary-fiction, creative-nonfiction, and classical literature, writing lyric essays, hanging out with her friends, listening to very sad music and rewatching the exact same three TV shows over and over again.
