Maxine Thornton, Co-Editor-in-Chief

Maxine Thornton is a senior English major from Nyack, N.Y and serves as the Co-Editor in Chief at the Vermont Cynic. She has been with the Cynic since her freshman year, starting as a features editor before getting to serve as managing editor in the spring of 2024, eventually taking on her current position in fall 2025. She has held intern positions in public relations at the architecture and design firm Gensler and at Good Morning America as a part of their booking team, booking guests for TV. In her free time, she enjoys making people play cards with her, cooking and fighting sharks.
