Liliana Mefford, Managing Editor
(She/her) Liliana Mefford is a senior political science major with minors in law & society and Spanish from Madison, WI. She started at the Cynic in fall 2022 as a features writer, serving as assistant features editor and features editor before becoming managing editor this semester.
Outside of journalism, Liliana has spent time in D.C. working on congressional campaigns and political communications in voter protection law and redistricting. She also currently serves as an editor for the Vermont Undergraduate Law Review and interns for Student Legal Services.
Liliana is passionate about journalism that makes complex systems more accessible and amplifies underrepresented voices. Her writing often focuses on local news, politics and profile-driven stories that aim to connect individuals to larger social and political conversations. When she’s not writing, Liliana enjoys reading old books, petting dogs and perfecting her at-home coffee routine.
