BOYSCOUTMARIE plays at the Doghouse Sept. 17.

Although only two months into the UVM school year, Burlington’s music scene is already blooming, with many students rushing to see their first local shows. The music performed is a testament to years of students’ love and passion for music, cultivating into the songs that are played. At each and every show, the bands bring all their energy, which spreads throughout the crowd quickly. The beauty of these shows goes far beyond the music: it brings people together unlike anything else around campus. The community and shared experience is palpable as students from different backgrounds come together to enjoy the music. It creates a space where people can connect, make new friends and support our local artists and venues.
