Grace Wang, Editor-in-Chief
(She/her) Grace Wang is a senior environmental sciences major with minors in biology and reporting & documentary storytelling from Ann Arbor, MI. She joined the Cynic in her first-year at UVM as a culture staff writer and photographer. In the fall of 2023, she became culture editor. The next year, she stepped into the additional role of layout editor and helped to revive print at The Cynic through special issues once a semester. In the spring of 2024, she became editor-in-chief. She is also a member of the UVM Climbing Team, the University Program Board, and works as a server and soil carbon and forest ecology field and lab technician.
She first became interested in journalism as a sophomore in high school, joining her school’s paper and eventually becoming its editor-in-chief as a senior. Her journalistic interests have always surrounded social issues and the environment, highlighting individuals’ stories as they inform complex issues. She loves the power of journalism to bring together communities and break down barriers to knowledge. She loves to be outside in any season and often thinks about dirt.
