UVM Police arrested Bryce Whitney around 6:30p.m. on Oct. 25, following allegations he exposed himself to students on the second floor of Bailey/Howe.

Whitney, who has no connection to UVM, was arrested on charges of “felony lewd and lascivious conduct,” issued a no trespass order for UVM’s campus, and kept at the Chittenden County jail with $5,000 bail, according to UVM Police.

“I noticed a man kneeling on the ground being handcuffed by police and the man was saying he didn’t mean to harm anyone, and he said he had a razor blade in his backpack,” said senior Peter Tempesta, who was in the library at the time. “He said he had several phones in his pockets.”

Tempesta also said that the man had told police that he had gotten out of the hospital and needed to go back. After the man was led away, Tempesta said he was told by several female students that the man had grabbed at them, with one saying that he had grabbed her around the waist.

In a morning email to the campus community on Oct. 26, UVM Police asked for those who have information about the incident should call them at 802-656-3473.
